And the family favorite award goes to… Brandt! Brandt is Titus’ and my favorite person. It’s like Christmas morning for Titus every time Brandt comes home from work, or goes from outside to inside, or if Titus goes even 20 minutes without seeing Brandt and then sees him again. No matter the situation, Titus gets so excited to see him. He makes us feel loved and is so fun to be around. He really is a fantastic husband and father!

Brandt is the second oldest of four children. All of his immediate and extended family lives in Utah and they get together often, actually, ALL THE TIME. They are a really close and amazing family to be part of. His family instantly made me feel like I was part of their family. I remember early in our relationship, Brandt’s dad and mom out of the blue one day bought me a pomegranate just because they knew that I liked them. I was so touched by this and am continually touched by their thoughtfulness to make me feel like I am their daughter, not just their daughter-in-law. Titus LOVES his grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins so much and totally see's them as his best friends. In fact, whenever I tell him that he gets to choose a fun place to go or ask who he wants at his Birthday party, he right away says he wants to go to grandma and grandpa's house and begins to name each one of the family members.

Brandt is so inventive and a technology geek. He can literally fix ANYTHING! We always have people bring things by our house and ask us if Brandt can fix it for them or they tell us that if Brandt can fix it, we can keep it. We have inherited many things because of Brandt’s handy work. He loves taking things apart and putting them back together just to see how they work. Because he is so inventive, he is an amazing cook. He is great at changing recipes, coming up with his own, or even substituting ingredients with things that we already have at home to keep from having to go to the store. Some of my favorite things that he makes are: homemade salsa, his a“ward” winning chili (that’s what he calls it since he really did win our ward chili cook off), homemade rolls, and delicious chocolate chip cookies. I’ve had women call me in the past and say, “Can I talk to your husband, I need a recipe?” I absolutely LOVE this about him and often wonder when I am eating his food how I got so lucky!

He is a great provider for our family and works really hard at his job. Brandt works in a destructive test lab where he designs and builds test equipment. He loves telling everyone that his job is like "Mythbusters" without the explosions and that he gets paid to break things. He is very good at what he does and enjoys doing it.

Brandt has a deep testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served a mission to the Chile, Concepcion mission and while he was there he learned to speak Spanish, grew a deep love for all of God’s children, and learned to serve with all of his heart. Since Brandt came back home from his mission, he continually serves others whether it is helping his dad put up their Christmas lights, cleaning their rain gutters or setting up chairs early in the morning for church, Brandt does it with a smile and doesn’t wait to be asked. In our home, Brandt is every bit as involved with cooking, cleaning, and planning as I am and has been very involved in serving and raising our son. From helping with 3 a.m. feedings when Titus was a baby, to taking Titus kayaking with him this summer. He just loves to spend time with Titus and teach him new things. Brandt’s love for service is yet another thing that makes him a wonderful father.

I love being Brandt's team mate. At the end of a super busy day, working side by side, we often celebrate with a high five saying, "We make a good team!"
